Prosecutors agreed to dismiss a written‑threats charge after he waived a preliminary hearing, while the bomb‑threat felony now heads to Circuit Court and he remains in custody.

Hamilton Man Charged in Attempted Arson, Shooting Incident (loudounnow.com) — Purcellville Police and Loudoun deputies responded to a violent April 28 incident on West Colonial Highway between Hamilton and Purcellville, where a Hamilton man allegedly tried to ignite gasoline in his apartment and later fired a shot while fleeing. Investigators say witnesses stopped him from lighting the fuel, and he now faces attempted arson, assault, firearm, and related charges, with a preliminary court hearing set for June.
   

4. Construction Begins on New Fire Station (loudounnow.com) — Purcellville residents may soon see faster emergency responses as a new Philomont fire station will add ambulance service, reducing reliance on units from Purcellville, Round Hill, and Aldie. County leaders just broke ground on the $25 million facility, which will house both career and volunteer firefighters and expand coverage across a 45‑square‑mile area of western Loudoun.
