6th Straight Regional Championship for Lady Raiders

LCHS Raiders Volleyball rolls through 16th straight win.

The volleyball team blasts into their 6th straight Regional Championship game after sweeping James Wood High School in 3 sets.

Despite a dismal student section for Thursday night’s Regional semifinal match, the Lady Raiders took three games from James Wood 25-12, 25-12, 25-22. With the win the Raiders improve to 25-1 on their 2011 quest for another State Championship title.

Game three proved to be the most nail biting as it was the only game the Raiders trailed. James Wood’s acrobatic displays of athleticism kept many volleys alive to lead by at most, two points several times. Senior Jordan Leiter aimed a well-placed tip on a second hit to give raiders the 23-21 lead. Senior Jenna Strange slammed a huge kill and served up a beautiful volley that allowed Junior Quinn O’Connell a tip for the winning point.
