"Without the Sheriff’s Deputies and support personnel working in our communities, we would not appreciate the safe and secure lifestyles that we now enjoy. The thin blue line establishes a barrier between light and darkness, good and evil, setting boundaries that hold back crime and ensure our comfort and community safety." - Mark Gunderman

As a Sterling resident, I have been attending the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety quarterly meetings since the opening of the Eastern Loudoun Station in Sterling took place in June, 2010. Eastern Loudoun residents are encouraged to attend along with homeowners associations, community groups, town representatives and elected officials. I live walking distance from the station and recognize its value and positive impact on the Sterling Park community. The Sterling Station location has greatly assisted the Sheriff’s Office with their goal in building strong relationships with the residents of eastern Loudoun to help keep the county a safe place to live and work. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your Loudoun County Sheriff and local Loudoun Station Captain.

Items to be discussed are recent crime and crime trends in your area, traffic safety concerns and other public safety related issues. The meetings will be led by a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Captain who represents your service area and Sheriff Mike Chapman or a member of his leadership team will also be in attendance to answer any questions fromthe audience.

The meetings usually take place in the station’s community room. The quarterly public safety meeting is part of the agency’s effort to better utilize resources, while at the same time providing a higher level of service to county residents. Supervisors from the Criminal Investigations Division, the Special Operations Division, Community Police Officers and Crime Prevention Deputies may also attend to give presentations.

A Deputy Sheriff's Prayer
"Oh, Almighty God, whose great power
and eternal wisdom embraces the universe.
Please watch over all our Deputies.
Protect them in their everyday duties of serving papers,
traffic violations, riots, evictions, domestic violence, and more.
Give them the strength to accomplish
the difficult tasks that lie before them.
Give them the wisdom and quick reactions that will result
in the safety of the people in their community.
God, protect these brave men and women.
Grant them your Almighty protection
and please unite them safely with their families
after their duty has ended.
Amen"
