• Dog Days Aren't Over: Leesburg Dog Swim Returns In September (patch.com) — Leesburg dog owners get one last chance for summer fun as the town's annual Dog Swim returns Sept. 12 to the AV Symington Aquatic Center. With two morning sessions, strict age and vaccination rules, and on-site veterinary support, the event offers a safe, off-leash pool experience for local pups. Space is limited and advance registration through WebTrac or Ida Lee Recreation Center is required.
   

• Inova Loudoun Offers Free 'Stop the Bleed' Training Sept. 1 (blueridgeleader.com) — A free "Stop the Bleed" workshop at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg on Sept. 1 will teach residents how to control life-threatening bleeding before first responders arrive. The evening session includes hands-on practice with tourniquets and wound-packing, and advance registration is required because space is limited.
   

• 'Pervteach' Elementary School Teacher In Loudoun County Learns Fate After Snapchat Sting (dailyvoice.com) — A Leesburg man has been sentenced in Loudoun County Circuit Court to more than 16 years in prison after an undercover Snapchat sting led investigators to child pornography on his devices. Authorities emphasized there's no indication of misconduct toward students at his Lovettsville school, but said his role as a teacher and online behavior made the case especially disturbing.
