ArtSquare Plans New Exhibit Reception Friday
Paintings by regional artists will be featured at the Leesburg gallery until August 27.
, a Loudoun Academy of Arts Foundation gallery located in Leesburg, has planned a reception from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. The exhibit will feature the work of regional artists who were selected for the 11th annual Something Hot Regional Juried Show.
The public can attend, meet the artists, view an incredible display of artwork and enjoy light refreshments.
“We are thrilled to be opening the 11th annual Something Hot Regional Juried Show," said Linda Callagy, executive director of ArtSquare. "We have invited artists living within 75 miles of Leesburg to feature their amazing art and just over 60 artists were selected for the show.”

This year’s art juror is Stewart Watson, an adjunct professor at George Mason University. She has curated and juried dozens of exhibits, as well as exhibited her own work since 1991. Watson is described as an innovative artist and a proponent of developing contemporary practices. Her work is in collections around the country.
Watson was highly complimentary of the works chosen, adding that “a large percentage of the work selected and not selected was of very high caliber.“
