BB Pellets Are Shattering Windows in Hamilton

A dozen vandalisms in small town reported in the past week by Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A rash of vandalisms has broken out over the part week in the town of Hamilton, and at least half of the cases have involved the use of a BB gun, say police reports.

In the last three days, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has reported a dozen cases of destruction of property in the small town along Route 7 west of Leesburg. The perpetrators have shattered the windows of homes, vehicles and in one case, a tractor.

The sheriff’s office has reported no arrests in these incidents.

The first incident occurred at some time between Thursday and Monday in the 80 block of South St. Paul Street, when someone damaged the storm door of a home by discharging a BB gun. Two vehicles on the same street had their rear windows damaged at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, though no BB gun was involved.

South of Hamilton on Friday, someone used a BB gun to damage the windshields of two vehicles on Digges Valley Road, including a tractor. And at 8 a.m. Monday, the owner of a vehicle parked in the 17100 block of Ivandale Road reported to sheriff’s deputies that someone had taken a BB gun to it, damaging three windows and the passenger side mirror.
