LEESBURG, VA — Leesburg Police have released a photo of a man suspected of breaking into Tobacco King early Thursday in hopes that the public may recognize him.

The burglary was reported shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday at Tobacco King, 345 E. Market St.

Officers determined the suspect had shattered the business’ plate glass door and taken an undetermined amount of merchandise from the business. The suspect fled the store before officers were dispatched, according to a department news release.

As a possible deterrent, police recommend that business owners take these precautions to discourage burglars: leave interior lights on and leave your empty cash drawer open while your business is closed, install motion activated lighting, install security cameras, and install audible alarms.
