Event Details
The Town of Purcellville and the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board invites the community to the sixth annual Celebrate Purcellville, a week-long, town-wide celebration taking place October 10–17, 2026.
Residents and visitors can pick up a Celebrate Purcellville Passport and explore participating businesses and organizations throughout town. Passport activities include visiting local businesses, a town-wide scavenger hunt, a nature trivia walk, and special events throughout the week. Participants who complete any/all the activities can submit their passports at the Fall Festival on October 17 for a chance to win prizes donated by participating businesses and organizations.
Passports will be available beginning October 9 at the following locations:
- Purcellville Town Hall, 221 S. Nursery Avenue
- Bush Tabernacle, 250 S. Nursery Avenue
- Purcellville Library, 220 E. Main Street
- Loudoun Valley Community Center, 320 W. School Street
Participating businesses and organizations will also have copies available, and the passport can be downloaded from the Town’s Celebrate Purcellville webpage at: https://purcellvilleva.gov/997/Celebrate-Purcellville.
Week-Long Activities
Passport – Visit businesses and organizations listed in the Celebrate Purcellville Passport during their regular hours from October 10 – 17 to get a sticker in the passport. Get at least 20 stickers and bring your passport to the Fall Festival on October 17 (there’s even a chance to get more stickers in your passport during the event!). Turn in the completed passport between 2 and 3 p.m. for a chance to win a prize.
Town-Wide Scavenger Hunt – Find 12 markers featuring each letter in the word “PURCELLVILLE” throughout town. Use the clues in the passport to locate the markers and record the code found on the back of each letter. Find at least six codes, write them in the passport, and turn in the passport to the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 17 for a chance to win a prize.
Nature Trivia Walk – Walk along the Chapman DeMary Trail and find 10 nature trivia questions along the way. Participants who write the answers in the passport for at least six questions can turn it in at the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 17 for a chance to win a prize.
SPECIAL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES—There are special events happening the week of Celebrate Purcellville. Some events are held on specific days and others are going on throughout the week. These are listed below.
Saturday, October 10
- Purcellville Tag Sale: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Town-wide, hosted by Nostalgia, 142 E. Main Street
- Safe Rider Challenge: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Purcellville Police Department, 125 E. Hirst Road
- Purcellville Library Book Sale: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Purcellville Library, 220 E. Main Street
- Purcellville Garden Club Wreath Showcase & Sale: Purcellville Train Station, 200 N. 21st Street; beginning at 9 a.m. until sold out
- Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company Open House: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 500 N. Maple Avenue
- Volunteer Day at the Purcellville Mini-Forest: 10 a.m. to noon, located on S. 20th Street between Makersmiths (785 S. 20th Street) and the Town Wastewater Plant (1001 S. 20th Street)
Sunday, October 11
- Storybook Walk Ribbon Cutting: 2 p.m. at the Suzanne R. Kane Nature Preserve, 312 N. 21st Street
Tuesday, October 13 – Friday, October 16
- Sneak Peek of the Purcellville Artisan Tour Art Show: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Purcellville Town Hall, 221 S. Nursery Avenue
Tuesday, October 13
- Station Stitchers Open House to make a quilt block and learn more about the organization: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 201 N. Maple Avenue, #207
Friday, October 16
- Car Seat Safety Check: noon to 4 p.m. at the Purcellville Police Department, 125 E. Hirst Road
- Teen Skate Night: 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink
Celebrate Purcellville Fall Festival – Saturday, October 17
The celebration will culminate with the Celebrate Purcellville Fall Festival from 2 - 5 p.m. in Dillon’s Woods. The free festival will feature music, games and activities, food and drink vendors, and prize drawings. Participants may turn in completed passports, the scavenger hunt, and/or nature trivia activities between 2 and 3:30 p.m. Prize drawings will take place at 4 p.m.; must be present to win.
