Call for Teens to Compete in Battle of Bands

Loudoun YouthFest celebrates its tenth anniversary next year. The annual celebration of youth, featuring live bands, exhibits, and activities, will take place May 30, 2015 at The Barn in Ashburn. YouthFest performers are selected through a Battle of the Bands competition. The first competition will be held Jan. 16, 2014 at The Studio, 45449 Severn Way, Ste., 165, Dulles.

Middle and high school students residing in Loudoun County are eligible to compete. Winners of three scheduled battles advance to a final competition and perform at YouthFest. The winner of the final competition will be the opening act for the festival’s nationally-known headliner.

Additional battles are scheduled for Feb. 13 and March 13 at The Studio. The finals take place April 17 at the Tally Ho in Leesburg, VA. Performers interested in competing should request an application online at loudounteens.org by Dec. 1, 2014. Competition organizers randomly select lineups and assign competition dates.
