Design Within Reach Opens Its First Outlet Store In DC Area

LEESBURG, VA — Design Within Reach (DWR), a modern furniture store, is holding a grand opening on Saturday, Dec. 14 at its first outlet store in the Washington, D.C. area, located at the Leesburg Premium Outlets. The new outlet joins DWR's four other outlet stores in Brooklyn, Vero Beach, Florida, Oxnard, California and Yonkers, New York. Founded in 1998, DWR offers customers innovative works from iconic designers of furniture, lighting and accessories accessible.

The new DWR Leesburg Outlet provides design enthusiasts with 10,000 square feet of retail space curated with innovative design merchandise. The new DWR outlet is "a great shopping destination, and its proximity to Washington D.C., and the surrounding metro area makes it well positioned to serve bargain-hunting design lovers," DWR President John McPhee said Tuesday in a statement. Design Within Reach has one other location in the D.C. area, a retail store in the heart of Georgetown at 3338 M Street.

Unlike other DWR Outlet locations, which stock product samples, customer returns and pieces with minor scratches and dents, the Leesburg Outlet "exclusively carries overstocked inventory and cancelled product orders," the company said. Shoppers can expect to find items such as sofas, armchairs, tables and beds, including products from Cassina, Knoll and Herman Miller, shipped directly from the company's distribution center.

The Dec. 14 grand opening of the DWR Leesburg Outlet, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature refreshments, special offers for first-time customers and a free gift with a purchase of $500 or more. The DWR Leesburg Outlet is located in the Leesburg Premium Outlets at 241 Fort Evans Road NE, Leesburg. Its regular business hours will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., although the store will have special hours during the holidays.
