Downtown Traffic Detour To Resume For Gas Main Relocation, Leesburg
The intersection of Market and King streets will be closed at night, from October 25 to January 31, 2021.

Leesburg, VA (October 22, 2020) ā Following a short delay, Washington Gas is scheduled to continue its relocation of a gas main, located under the intersection of Market and King streets, on Sunday, October 25, 2020.

Work will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. During this time, the intersection will be closed and traffic will be detoured. The gas relocation work is expected to be completed by January 31, 2021, weather permitting.
The relocation is taking place in order to facilitate the replacement of the storm sewer system at the intersection as part of the Market and King Street intersection improvements project. For more details regarding this project visit www.leesburgva.gov/market-and-king.
