Spring is never complete without the annual Purcellville Woman’s Club Tea. This year, the Club is hosting high tea with a 1940’s theme. A silent auction featuring items from dining and services to antiques and collectibles will provide friendly competition as guests bid on their favorite items. The tea will be held at the Loudoun Golf and Country Club from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM on April 21.
“Swingin by a Star” and “The Songbirds” will entertain with music of the 1940’s reminiscent of
the great USO shows. Models will be wearing fashions of the era
The Tea is the Club’s major fundraiser to help fund projects for the 2012-2013 season. Major projects include scholarships to qualified graduating young women of the community, supporting the Christmas Caroling with the Chief at Christmas project, hosting and sponsoring the Miss Purcellville Police Pageant, and other community service projects as needed.
The Purcellville Woman’s Club is a community service organization founded in 1909 and has been active without interruption. The mission of the Club is to “Bring together women interested in civic, educational, cultural, and religious development of the Purcellville community and the
County of Loudoun.” Over the years, the Club has presented scholarships to Loudoun Valley High School graduating seniors. This year, an additional scholarship will be awarded to a young woman graduating from Woodgrove High School.
Tickets for this fun event are $25 which includes admission, high tea, door prize and silent auction participation. Space is limited and tickets sell fast. Tickets can be purchased Online at http://purcellvillewomen.eventbrite.com or by calling Tiffany Henkel at 703-989-7452.
