Sunday Spotlight Series - Meet Mrs. Abe Lincoln - Civil War History Event

THE YANKEES ARE COMING!  As part of downtown Leesburg’s new “Sunday Spotlight Series,” the Very Virginia Shop is hosting a living history event in their courtyard on April 10th, held in honor of the 150th Anniversary of America’s Civil War.  Meet and chat with former first lady, Mrs. Abraham Lincoln and several other Civil War reenactors in downtown Leesburg!   Also meet local author, T. Elizabeth Renich, as she will be signing copies of her four historically-based Civil War novels called “The Shadowcreek Chronicles.”

The Sunday Spotlight Series hosts weekly live performances on Sunday afternoons, such as stand-up comedians, theater groups, book signings, living history events and outdoor concerts, featuring local musicians and bands from a wide range of musical genres  (bluegrass, rock, classical, jazz, etc).

Sundays are a great time to visit the shops and restaurants of historic downtown Leesburg and the Spotlight Series allows visitors a chance to enjoy FREE live entertainment under the trees, in a relaxing setting.  Plus it gives local musicians, theater groups, and other performers, a new place to perform, especially young bands and musicians, that do not have as many venues and opportunities to play for the public.
