Fake $100 Bill Turns Up In Middleburg
The town police have released photos of the counterfeit Benjamin.

MIDDLEBURG, VA — The Middleburg Police Department is warning people in the area to be on the lookout for fake $100 bills. On its Facebook page this week, the department posted photos of a fake bill that was used in town recently.

Counterfeit bills are also produced in lower denominations, and the department cautions residents to check all bills before accepting them.

Currency can be checked with a pen or other method. The department also is directing residents to visit a U.S. Federal Reserve Board website to learn more about checking $100 bills for authenticity.
