Fifth Grade Students Win Art Contest

The National Conference Center surprised art students at Seldens Landing Elementary School on Thursday by announcing that their artwork was considered for the 2011 Holiday Card.

 

Eric Whitson, Director of Sales and Marketing for the National Conference Center (NCC) visited Seldens Landing Elementary School, on Thursday, Dec 15, to surprise Mr. Stephen Loya’s fifth grade art class.

Whitson announced the top three winners who will have their art showcased on the conference center’s holiday card, which was , and is sent out to approximately 500 of NCC’s clients and members of the community.

Staff members of NCC voted on the artwork and the top three were posted to Facebook. The design that received the most “likes” was chosen to be featured on the card. First place went to Kareem Elsharkawy, who received a  gift card to Michaels Arts and Crafts store will have his work featured on NCC’s Holiday card.

Second place went to Rodrigo Nadal and third place went to Valerie Navamal.

This is the fifth year that the art class has worked with the NCC, Loya said. He chooses one class every year for this project and tries to rotate the classes chosen so it’s a more fair opportunity.
