Five Monroe Students Advance to National SkillsUSA Competition

Five Monroe students were awarded first place in their area of expertise and have advanced to the National Competition in Kansas City, MO.

Twenty-eight students from participated in the State SkillsUSA Competition in Hampton, VA. last month.

Monroe students competed in the areas of graphic communications, crime scene investigation, networking, auto collision repair, cosmetology, masonry, welding and carpentry. Schools from all over the state sent their regional first place winners to this competition.

Five Monroe students were awarded first place in their area of expertise and have advanced to the National Competition in Kansas City, MO, to be held June 23 to 27:

Monroe is currently collecting donations to help these students represent Virginia and travel to this prestigious competition. The trip will cost approximately $1,200 per student. If you would like to help with this fundraiser, please email Monroe’s parent liaison, Sherry Khan.
