Five Story Holiday Tree to be Lit in Leesburg Nov. 28

A visit from Santa, horse-drawn carriages and caroling included in the event.

It’ll look a lot like Christmas in The Village at Leesburg on Friday, Nov. 28. Mayor Kristen Umstattd kicks off the Christmas season in Leesburg with the lighting of Northern Virginia’s largest holiday tree.

The 52-foot, five-story tall tree at the Village at Leesburg shopping center, off Route 7 at the Crosstrail Boulevard/River Creek Parkway exit, will feature more than 15,000 lights, animated music and a light show. Holiday festivities will accompany the event from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., including a visit with Santa, horse-drawn carriages, musical performances, caroling, cozy fire pits with hot chocolate and more.

The Village at Leesburg is partnering with Toys for Tots for the event and encourages people who attend the tree lighting to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate.
