LEESBURG, VA — A new and different kind of doughnut shop is now open in the Village at Leesburg, 1602 Village Market Boulevard. Say hello to Fractured Prune, where the variety pretty much is anything and everything.

The chain, with roots to Ocean City, Md., going back to 1976, features 19 varieties of glazes and 13 toppings. Fractured Prune has shops scattered across the country and has been featured in various national publications. And why's it called Fractured Prune? Here's the answer, per the website: "Fractured PruneĀ® Doughnuts is named after the spunky Prunella Shriek, known as ā€œFractured Prunellaā€ for the broken bones she suffered competing in traditionally men’s sports even into her 70s. Fractured PruneĀ® Doughnuts celebrates her legacy with a doughnut as individual as the person ordering it!"
