Great Country Farms Honors Health Care Workers, First Responders

Great Country Farms wants health care workers and first responders to enjoy a day at its Bluemont farm and everything that comes with it.

BLUEMONT, VA — Great Country Farms wants health care workers and first responders on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis to enjoy a day at its farm in Bluemont and everything that comes with it. The farm is honoring workers as part of Healthcare Worker & First Responder Week, which runs through Friday, July 10.

Health care workers and first responders will get complimentary admission to Great Country Farms, half-price pints at its Henway Hard Cider Co. by the Great Country Farms pond and half-price glasses of sangria at its Bluemont Vineyard.

"This is a huge milestone and it's our turn to thank you for all you have done and continue to do to care for our community during these unprecedented times," Great Country Farms said.

Great Country Farms is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Henway Hard Cider Co., located at Great Country Farms, is open daily from noon to 7 p.m. and until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Bluemont Vineyard, also located at the farm, is open daily from noon to 7 p.m. and until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The farm asks guests to practice social distancing while visiting and wear a face covering when inside its buildings.

Owned by the Zurschmeide family, Great Country Farms is a 400-acre working farm situated at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains at 18780 Foggy Bottom Road in Bluemont, about six miles west of Purcellville just off Route 7.
