LEESBURG, VA — The weight of the weekend snowfall collapsed a tennis bubble at Ida Lee Recreation Center-Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, town officials said.
No injuries were reported, as the facility was unoccupied at the time.
According to the National Weather Service, Leesburg had received 9 inches of snow and sleet by Monday morning.

Officials said an initial assessment suggests a tear in the membrane caused air to escape; the incident remains under investigation. Staff members are working with the manufacturer on options and assessing the second tennis bubble.
