'Home For The Holidays' Pet Adoption Event Saturday In Loudoun

Loudoun County Animal Services is hosting its 3rd annual ''Home for the Holidays" animal adoption event 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

WATERFORD, VA — Here's a free, living Christmas present for your kids or even yourself. Hint: The present likely will either purr or bark. Yep, Loudoun County Animal Services is hosting its 3rd annual "Home for the Holidays" animal adoption event 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Loudoun County Animal Shelter, 39820 Charles Town Pike.

Adoption fees will be waved on all pets regardless of species or age. Said LCAS shelter operations manager Amy Martin in a release: "We do everything we can to provide Loudoun’s homeless pets with a loving, comfortable place to stay, but nothing compares to the love and comfort they will have in a home with a family to call their own. If our kennels are empty by the end of the event, I think that would make our staff’s holiday wishes come true!"

On hand will be a hot cocoa station, fire-roasted s'mores, goody bags for adopters and more. LCAS also is collecting supplies for shelter pets including durable, rubber pet toys, such as KONG brand toys, puzzle feeders, leashes, cat and dog collars, and toys for all species of pets.

All pets available for adoption during Home for the Holidays will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given age-appropriate vaccinations.
