The International Easter Banquet needs your help:
Pray that God will be glorified, the Body of Christ unified, and the heart of the lost open to the message of the gospel in testimony, song, dance and drama.
Last year the organizers were expecting about 200-250 guests. According to one count, they had close to 450 guests! The Lord brought so many people to witness His handiwork. There were not enough chairs, but thank God there was enough food!
The 2015 program included testimonies and singing in many different languages – Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Hindi, Korean, Hebrew, Spanish, Urdu & of course, English.
The organizers thanked the Churches that led worship and for worshiping the Lord Jesus in their own language, for teaching us a few phrases, and for giving us a foretaste of what heaven will be like (Revelations 7:9).
Arabic – Arabic New Life Baptist Church – Pastor Tony Ghareeb
Chinese - Chinese Christian Church of Greater Washington, DC – Pastor Daniel Zhao
English / Sierra Leone – Bread of Life Church – Pastor Patrick Kabia
Farsi – Afghan, Iranian & Tajik Christian Fellowship – Pastor Mich Tosan
Hebrew – Pastor Eric Teitelman
Hindi/Indian – Raj Daniel & family

The photographs reflect a truly fabulous evening of celebration of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom people from all nations could come together to sing, dance, eat and pray for and with one another. The photos testify to the glory of the Lord manifest in the unity of Church. We are so thankful that people from other faiths were able to witness what the Lord Jesus has accomplished through His sacrifice on the CROSS. Isaiah 56:6,7 - "And foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD to serve him, to love the name of the LORD, and to worship him, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant-- these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations."
Note: In the Christian Church year, Easter is far more than a single day of observance. Similar to the Christmas season, the Season of Easter is actually a seven-week period of the Church year called Eastertide. This fifty day period, called Pentecost in some traditions, begins at sundown the evening before Easter Sunday (the Easter Vigil) and lasts for six more weeks until Pentecost Sunday.
The Easter season celebrates this highest point of the Christian Church year in America. Easter is a time of praise, as Christians glorify the risen Christ. The scripture readings proclaim the power of the resurrection that gives strength in suffering, unity in diversity, consolation in sorrow, perseverance in adversity and faith in times of doubt.
