Loudoun County, VA (November 18, 2019) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has once again partnered with Cole’s Closet, a non-profit organization, to help donate toys to fill “closets” with toys for children while they are at the hospital.

Last year, Loudoun County residents helped the LCSO collect over 1,500 toys for our annual Santa Ride for Cole’s Closet. “We are blessed to live in such a giving, caring and supportive community and we are asking our residents to help again this year by donating new, unwrapped toys to bring holiday cheer to hospitalized children,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman.

Cole's Closet was created in 2002 by Ellen and Steve Tomczyk after they lost their six-month-old son to an undiagnosed brain disease. The Tomczyks spent four months in and out of area hospitals where they experienced first-hand the anxiety and fear families face when a child is hospitalized. Ellen and Steve began a toy drive at a family holiday party one year after Cole passed away and since then they have donated thousands of new toys to area hospitals.
