Leesburg 2019 Holiday Events: Tree Lighting Festival, More

LEESBURG, VA — Kick off the 2019 holiday season in Leesburg at the town's annual Tree Lighting Festival, planned Nov. 23 from 3-6 p.m. Come see Leesburg's five-story-tall Spectacular Musical Tree when the switch is flipped, revealing 15,000 dazzling lights.

The Tree Lighting Festival is held at Village of Leesburg, 1602 Village Market Blvd. S.E. The event also features Santa visits, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday performances and special promotions at Village businesses.

Nov. 24-Jan. 1: Spectacular Musical Tree Shows

The following day, revisit the holiday tree for the opening of Spectacular Musical Tree Shows. The tree lights and snowflake topper perform festive musical displays at the top of the hour each day from 12-9 p.m.

Spectacular Musical Tree Shows continue each day of the holiday season through Jan. 1.

Dec. 1: Christmas Tree Lighting at Winter WonderLansdowne

Continue the holiday celebrations at the ceremonial lighting of Landsdowne's 20-foot tree. The event features festive beverages, carolers and a guest appearance from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

While admission is free, RSVPs are requested.

Dec. 6: Opening Day of Christmas Village at Leesburg Animal Park

Throughout the month of December, families can get in the holiday spirit with a variety of activities including photos with Santa and live animals, arts and crafts, marshmallow roasting, animal petting and feeding, and more. Check out thousands of holiday lights as well as a nativity scene.

Christmas Village will be open 6-9 p.m. Dec. 6-7, 13-14, and 20-23.

Dec. 6: Historic Leesburg's Christmas Tree Lighting

Join the community at Historic Leesburg to celebrate the start of the holiday season at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Town Green. At this ceremony, enjoy live performances from local groups while the tree is lit.
