Leesburg Begins Yard Waste Pickup A Week Early Due To High Volume

The Town of Leesburg said yard waste pickup could be suspended due to staffing issues or concerns related to the new coronavirus.

LEESBURG, VA — Yard waste collection in Leesburg is beginning a week earlier than scheduled due to the high volume of yard waste, the town said Friday. Beginning Monday, Patriot Disposal Services will begin to collect yard waste for residents living within Leesburg town limits every Monday.

The town noted that the service could be suspended due to staffing issues with Patriot Disposal Services or concerns related to the new coronavirus, or COVID-19. Residents can monitor the town's social media sites and its website at www.leesburgva.gov to find out if the service will need to be suspended.

A maximum of 10 bags, or 10 properly marked trash cans, will be picked up at each resident's home per week. Yard waste is limited to grass clippings, leaves, weeds and small twigs and must be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. each Monday in biodegradable paper bags or in cans clearly marked as yard waste.
