Leesburg Health Inspections: Delirium Cafe, Elysium Axe Bar
The Loudoun County Health Department cited violations at several Leesburg facilities during recent restaurant inspections.
LEESBURG, VA — The Loudoun County Health Department recorded violations at several Leesburg area restaurants during inspections from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4.
Most COVID-19 restrictions around the state have relaxed, so health inspectors are returning to conduct some restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.
Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection.

- Total violations: 1
- Observed frother used for coffee washed, rinsed, and sanitized. The sanitizer was 200 ppm.
- Atomic Trampoline Fun Center, 1604 Village Market Blvd SE #110 Leesburg, VA 20175
- Date inspected: Sept. 28
- Total violations: 1
- Management, food employees or conditional employees were not aware or informed of their responsibilities in reporting symptoms or diagnosis of diseases transmissible through food. The person in charge did not train employees to the signs, symptoms, and exposure and who to report to.

- Total violations: 4
- Observed no verifiable manner that employees are aware, to report to the person in charge (PIC), information about their health and activities as it relates to diseases that are transmissible through food.
- Observed no food thermometer present in the facility that measures temperatures below 120F.
- Observed no irreversible temperature measuring device to measure the utensil surface temperature for the high temperature dish machine/
- Observed outdoor refuse area for dumpsters to not be on a nonabsorbent, smooth and easily cleanable surface. Refuse is on gravel.

- Sliced tomatoes were observed cold holding in small prep cooler on line with an internal temperature of 44-45 F. Cold holding of foods needs to be 41 F or less.
- Approximately one gallon container of house made chicken salad with lid was observed cooling in the walk in cooler with an internal temperature of 57 F. The cooling of chicken salad is hindered by the large amount along with storage in a sealed container.
- When asked to check the concentration of chemical sanitizer at the 3 compartment sink staff replied they are out of test strips.
- The dish machines in use are high temperature hot water for sanitizing food utensils. Management stated the high recording thermometer for the dish machine is on back order.

- Observed no paper towels at kitchen hand washing sink.
- Observed no hand soap at hand washing sink near the 3 compartment sink.
- Observed several shellstock tags (mussels) not dated with when the last shellstock from the container was sold or served. Also observed tags not in chronological order.
- Observed back door in kitchen no longer tight fitting. Observed daylight from bottom of door.

- Observed the following TCS foods cold holding on the line at improper temperatures at 12:30pm: (Chicken Caesar salad) cut lettuce and cooked chicken breast. Cut lettuce 60F, 53F, cooked chicken breast 54F, 59F, 51F. The cold plate and ambient air temperature of the far right refrigeration unit at the line was 46F and is unable to hold foods cold, at or below 41F. Manager stated salads were placed on line at 11:30am.
