Leesburg Health Inspections: Roy Rogers, King Street Oyster Bar
The Loudoun County Health Department recorded violations at several restaurants around Leesburg during recent inspections.
LEESBURG, VA — The Loudoun County Health Department recorded violations at several facilities in western Loudoun County during the most recent round of restaurant inspections. The most recently published inspections occurred between June 15 and June 21.
Most COVID-19 restrictions around the state have relaxed, so health inspectors are returning to conduct some restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.
Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection.

- Hand towels were not available at the dish machine area hand sink due to dispenser not working.
- A container of minestrone soup was observed cooling in the walk-in cooler since yesterday with an internal temperature of 48°F.
- The high temperature dish machine temperature was not able to be verified by staff due to no irreversible registering thermometer on site.

- Observed: Employee drinking cup not covered (in prep area).
- Observed: Employee hand sink needs a sign informing employees to wash hands.
- Observed: Butter sauce, hollandaisse sauce holding at a temperature below 135F (128, 91F)
- Observed; Cell phone being stored in prep area on a cutting board.

- Total violations: 3
- Observed hand sink by 3 compartment sink that there was no flow of water.
- Observed shredded cheese 60F and pepper jack 53F at an improper cold holding temperature.
- Observed an in use utensil (knife) being store between use under scale at salad station.

- Observed: Handsink in bar (corner) does not have signage instructing employees to wash hands.
- Observed: Raw animal products (red meat) stored above containers of ready-to-eat food items (dips, etc.).
- Observed: Low temperature dish machine in kitchen measured 0 ppm chlorine and 155F water temperature.
- Observed: Numerous items do not have date marks, labels (gyro, pasta) in cook line refrigerator.
- Observed: The test strips to test quaternary ammonia have expired.

- Observed roast beef 113F on slicer since 1pm temperature taken about 2:15 pm under a heat lamp at an improper hot holding temperature.
- Observed in front cooler salad 45F and 1% milk 46 F at an improper cold holding temperature.
- Observed chipped beef gravy 49F and sausage patties 44F cooling from breakfast served this morning tightly covered.
- Observed the plastic guard in ice machine with a build up of debris.
