Leesburg Health Inspections: Weird Brothers, Leesburg Bonchon

The Loudoun County Health Department recorded violations at several facilities around the Leesburg area during recent inspections.

LEESBURG, VA — The Loudoun County Health Department recorded violations at several facilities in western Loudoun County during the most recent round of restaurant inspections. The most recently published inspections occurred between June 22 and June 28.

Most COVID-19 restrictions around the state have relaxed, so health inspectors are returning to conduct some restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

      • Observed coffee with a lid setting on the counter next to breakfast sandwiches that were being prepped.
      • The hand sink in the prep area had no soap.
      • Observed food employee with gloves on open chemical cabinet and went back to making food.
      • Observed food container lids and drinks being stored on the floor.

      • Observed: There is no certified food protection manager available during time of inspection.
      • Observed: No clean up plan is available with written directions.
      • Observed: 1/2 and 1/2 is in carafes for public self-service, being held at time as a public health control (TPHC) without documentation, label/sticker indicating that once brought out to counter at temperature (41F) that it will be discarded after 4 hours on counter.

      • Observed an avocado on shelf that was hard and dried out.
      • Observed raw shell eggs store over ready to eat pickled radish and frozen noodles uncovered in 2 door reach in cooler in kitchen.
      • Observed the sanitizer at 3 compartment at an improper sanitizing concentration 0-1.17 mL. Should be 2.11-4.30 mL.
      • Observed chicken tenders 105F at the fryer in baskets under no temperature control.
      • Observed in 2 door reach in cooler improper cold holding temperatures of raw shell eggs 55F, pickled radish 60F, whole milk 52F, kimchi 55F.
      • Observed thongs being stored over fire extinguisher by hand sink in kitchen.
      • Observed 2 door reach in cooler holding an improper of 52F.
      • Observed the hand in the kitchen faucet was broken only one turn on water.
