LEESBURG, VA — Loudoun County police Monday arrested a juvenile detention worker who is now facing multiple felony sex charges including rape and sodomy. Clifton Townsend, 60, of Leesburg, is employed at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center, but police said Townsend’s victim was not associated with the center.
According to police, the Sheriff’s Office was made aware of an incident Aug. 17 and, after an investigation, determined Townsend had sexual contact with a juvenile he knew. Police did not release the age or gender of the victim.
