Leesburg native Joseph Callen is now a member of the <a href="http://www.vtcc.vt.edu/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Virginia Tech</a> regimental band, the Highty-Tighties. Callen is a first-year cadet and sophomore. The Highty-Tighties are the school's longest-service musical group, representing Virginia Tech at football games and parades around the region. The band was formed in 1893 as a cadet band company, and named the Highty-Tighties in 1919. The band has won 129 first place trophies.
