Leesburg Police Looking for Crash Witnesses

Motorcyclist injured in Friday accident on East Market Street.

The Leesburg Police Department is trying to locate any witnesses to a crash Friday between a motorcyclist and a car.

At about 11 a.m., a 1982 Honda motorcycle, being operated by Nicolas A. Kidder, 29, of Leesburg, was heading west in the 1500 block on East Market Street, the police said.

It was struck from behind by a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Patrick A. Carr, 50, of Chambersburg, Pa., just prior to the Battlefield Parkway intersection. Kidder was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said.

He was transported by ambulance to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Carr was charged with reckless driving, police said.
