Leesburg Police Make Arrest in Aggravated Assault Investigation

Leesburg, VA (8/27/2020) – Detectives assigned to the Leesburg Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in collaboration with detectives assigned to the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force (NVRGTF) arrested 21 year old Darryl Johnson of Herndon yesterday, charging him with felony unlawful wounding and misdemeanor assault and battery. This arrest is related to the 8/24/2020 assault that occurred in the 100 Block of North King Street. Johnson is being held on no bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Johnson was the sole suspect in this case. The investigation has revealed that this was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the community.

Leesburg Police Respond to Aggravated Assault

Leesburg, VA (8/25/2020) – At approximately 8:00 PM on August 24, 2020, Patrol Officers from the Leesburg Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 Block of North King Street for the report of an aggravated assault.

At the residence, Officers met with a 19-year-old male that reported being assaulted with a knife by a subject that is known to him. The victim was transported to a local hospital with what was determined to be non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives assigned to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) are continuing the investigation, and no arrests have been made. Detectives believe this incident to be isolated and without threat to the public.
