Leesburg Police Take Subject Into Custody In Brandishing Investigation

Leesburg, VA (February 5, 2021) – On Friday, February 5, 2021 at approximately 12:54 PM, Leesburg Police Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Shenandoah Square Shopping Center, located in the 900 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE, for a report of a male subject brandishing a firearm and chasing a female.

Leesburg Police Officers responded and quickly took the adult male subject into custody without further incident. It has been determined that the suspect and victim were known to each other. The sole suspect is in custody and there is no danger to the public. Charges are pending the conclusion of the preliminary investigation.

The incident remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
