Leesburg Restaurant Inspections: Bowling Alley Snack Bar, 5 Tara

LEESBURG, VA — Local health officials recently inspected food preparation and storage at food establishments in Leesburg and western Loudoun County. During the period from Dec. 16 to Dec. 27, 2019, inspectors found a total of 25 violations at nine restaurants in Leesburg and western Loudoun County.

Inspectors found multiple issues at the snack bar at the Village Lanes bowling alley in Leesburg, including potential cross contamination of animal products with ready-to-eat food and employee

foods being kept with food items intended for service to customers.

At multiple restaurants, chemical spray bottles were not properly lableled. At 5 Tara Authentic Indian Cuisine in Leesburg, an inspector saw an employee go from sweeping the floor to handling food and food utensils.

"In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations," according to Virginia Department of Health's website.
