Leesburg Restaurant Inspections: Ledo Pizza, Chen's Garden

LEESBURG, VA — The Loudoun County Health Department recorded violations at several facilities around Leesburg during their most recent round of restaurant inspections. Inspectors conducted the most recently published inspections between July 6 and July 12.

Most COVID-19 restrictions around the state have relaxed, so health inspectors are returning to conduct some restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection.

    • Observed: paper towels are missing from ladies restroom
    • Observed: there is no sanitizer being distributed through the wall unit at the three compartment sink.
    • When tested, no sanitizer was found in the low temperature dish machine.
    • Several TCS (time temperature control for safety) items in refrigeration units (portioned pasta, portioned salad dressings) are not date marked/labeled.
    • Observed: There are no test strips available for testing dish machine chlorine level. There are no test strips available for testing sanitizer level (quaternary ammonia) at 3 compartment sink.

    • Marinara sauce was stored large plastic container in the walk-in cooler with lid closed with an internal temperature of 45F after being placed in cooler yesterday.
