The Loudoun County Health Department recorded violations at several facilities around Leesburg during recent inspections.
LEESBURG, VA — The Loudoun County Health Department recorded violations at several facilities around Leesburg during recent inspections from Nov. 8 through Nov. 10.
Most COVID-19 restrictions around the state have relaxed, so health inspectors are returning to conduct some restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.
Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

- Observed this facility to not have a Certified Food Protection Manager. This is a repeat violation.
- Observed no verifiable manner that employees are aware, to report to the person in charge, information about their health and activities as it relates to diseases that are transmissible through food. This is a repeat violation.
- Observed bar hand washing sink turned off. Sink is being used as storage. Per PIC, the sink has a leak. No other hand washing sink observed at bar.
- Observed chemical dish machine with 0 PPM chlorine. Dish machine did not have any sanitizer hooked up to the machine. Dish machine was also observed with the line cut for the detergent. No detergent can be dispensed into the dish machine.
- Observed one container of lentil soup prepared on 10/31 in need of disposition.

- Observed grilled mushrooms 106F and grilled onions 110F foods held hot should be maintained at 135F or above.
- Observed raw fish 47F store at bottom of 1 door reach in cooler cold held foods should be at 41F or below.
- Observed chlorine sanitizer buckets used to wipe counters and cutting boards over 200 ppm app range is 50-100 ppm appropriate range 50-100 ppm.
- Observed a wet cloth setting on prep cooler.
- Facility did not have chlorine test strips to test the concentration of the sanitizer at the 3 compartment sink or buckets.

- Observed pre-packaged wrapped quesadilla de arroz salvadoreña for sale at counter. When asked, the Person in Charge stated that an individual comes and sells them the product. The facility does not make the product. No business name or address is listed on the label, only the name of the product and the ingredients. Person in Charge could not provide information that this source is approved or the name of business.
- Observed a can of Raid in the kitchen by the 3 compartment sink. This is a repeat violation.
- Observed daylight from back door seams. Back door is no longer tight fitting and could allow the entry of pests.

- Observed several single service utensils (knives, forks, spoons) for students to grab with the food contact surface facing up, not protected from contamination.
