Teenager In Serious Condition After Stabbing In Leesburg: Police

A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured Thursday night when he was stabbed in the upper body during an altercation in Leesburg.

Leesburg police identified 18-year-old DeAngelo Bland as a suspect in the stabbing and later charged him with malicious wounding. Bland is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

LEESBURG, VA — A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured Thursday night when he was stabbed in the upper body during an altercation in Leesburg, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Leesburg police identified 18-year-old DeAngelo Bland as a suspect in the stabbing and later charged him with malicious wounding. Bland is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

At about 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Leesburg Police dispatchers were called in response to the stabbing, which occurred in the 200 block of Meadows Lane, NE. The 16-year-old was transported to Reston Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Leesburg detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the altercation, and witnesses are still being interviewed. The police said the stabbing is believed to be isolated, given that Bland and the 16-year-old know each other.
