Leesburg Town Council Recognizes Local Girl Scouts

Mayor Kristen Umstattd presented Daisy Girl Scout Troop 2718 and Junior Girl Scout Troop 403 with a proclamation stating the month of March as "Girl Scouts Celebrate 100 Years Month".

Daisy Girl Scout Troop 2718 and Junior Girl Scout Troop 403 led the pledge to the flag and the Girl Scout promise at the Leesburg Town Council meeting Tuesday night.

Following the pledge, Mayor Kristen Umstattd read a proclamation which stated the month of March to be "Girl Scouts Celebrate 100 Years Month". Field Director, Diana Kane, gave each girl a moment to introduce herself to the Town Council as well.

There are over 1,000 Girl Scouts in Leesburg. Troops are forming all the time. Any girls between the ages of 5-18, who are interested in learning more about Girl Scouts, may contact Diana Kane atĀ dkane@gscnc.org.
