Leesburg's Trash Contractor To Resume Bulk Item Collection
Beginning next Monday, Patriot Disposal Inc. will resume its bulk item collection from residences within the Town of Leesburg.
LEESBURG, VA — Certain jurisdictions across Northern Virginia have suspended different types of waste pickup due to landfills and recycling facilities filling up or trash contractors not having enough staff due to workers getting sick with the coronavirus.
In Leesburg, beginning next Monday, Patriot Disposal Inc. will resume its bulk item collection within the town for those who schedule a pickup. All bulk collection items require a call to Patriot for scheduling the collection. Bulk item collection in Leesburg had been suspended since March 23.
A list of allowable items and restrictions can be found on the town's website. Leesburg said it does not provide removal for waste generated by home construction or remodeling services that are performed by contractors.

Residents performing their own remodeling may dispose of three 55-gallon bags of construction debris with a maximum weight 50 pounds per bag. Items may also be taken to the Loudoun County landfill.
In Arlington County, because of the impact of the coronavirus on trash crew staffing, residential yard waste pickup from green curbside carts and biodegradable paper waste bags has been suspended, effective Tuesday. The county is encouraging residents to grasscycle lawn clippings and compost organics whenever possible.
