Loudoun County Man Arrested, Accused of Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material: Police

LEESBURG, VA – A Leesburg man has been arrested and charged with one count of possession of child pornography, the Leesburg Police Department announced Wednesday.

Mark A. Leonard, 60, of Leesburg was arrested on Wednesday after a months-long investigation, the department said in a release.

According to the Leesburg police, the department first received information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in February about suspected illegal online activity associated with a Leesburg resident, and received additional information about the same suspect from the NCMEC as their investigation progressed.

On Wednesday, Leesburg detectives searched a residence on the 100 block of Marlow Street SW, seizing items for further evaluation. Leonard is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and they could file additional charges as evidence is processed.
