Manassas Man Dies At Leesburg Work Site On Saturday: Police

Authorities said a 40-year-old man from Manassas died on Saturday after he fell from a truck at a Leesburg work site.

LEESBURG, VA — A Manassas man died on Saturday after he fell from the back of a truck at a Leesburg work site, authorities said.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 40-year-old Heidy Ricardo Lopez Rivas. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at a work site in the 23000 block of Evergreen Mill. Detectives said Lopez Rivas fell from the back of a truck while it was moving. The driver of the truck immediately stopped and called for help.

"At this time, there is no indication of criminal activity," the sheriff's office said in a news release. "The investigation is still active, and our detectives are working with the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner."
