Missing 15-Year-Old Sought In Leesburg: Police

Authorities in Leesburg are asking for the public's help locating a 15-year-old girl who was reported missing on Friday.

LEESBURG, VA — A 15-year-old girl from Leesburg is missing, the Leesburg Police Department announced on Monday morning. The girl, Yelsi Mendez-Chicas, was reported missing on Friday evening.

Authorities said that Mendez-Chicas left her home of her own accord around 7 p.m. on Friday and has not returned. She is considered a runaway, the police department said.

When she left her home on Friday, Mendez-Chicas was wearing a brown sweater and pants, police said. She is about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds.

She has brown eyes and her brown hair is currently dyed blue, authorities said.
