Homicide Reported In Leesburg, Herndon Man Charged With Murder
A man from Herndon has been charged with murder after a Leesburg man was found dead in his home on Friday, police said.

LEESBURG, VA — A Leesburg man was found dead in his home on Friday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. A Herndon man has been charged with murder.
Police identified the victim as 62-year-old Carroll T. Davis Jr. Authorities did not specify what exactly caused his death.
On Saturday, the sheriff's office charged 19-year-old Mario R. Hernandez-Navarrate with second-degree murder and grand larceny. Police said the two men knew each other.

If convicted of both charges, Hernandez-Navarrate could face up to 60 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
On Friday, the sheriff's office received a call asking deputies to check on the welfare of a man in the 21000 block of Evergreen Mills Road in Leesburg. Deputies found Davis dead in the home.

After an investigation by the Office of the Medical Examiner, authorities determined that Davis's death was a homicide. They then identified Hernandez-Navarrate as a suspect. Investigators said there are no other people of interest in the case.
Hernandez-Navarrate was arrested on Friday after he crashed Davis's vehicle in Fairfax County, police said. He was charged with additional crimes in Fairfax.
