Purcellville Police To Enjoy Hot Cocoa With Citizens
The Purcellville police are hosting a Cocoa with a Cop event on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Dunkin' Donuts on Wolf Rock Drive.
PURCELLVILLE, VA ā The Purcellville Police Department is hosting a Cocoa with a Cop event on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts at 1200 Wolf Rock Drive. The event is held once a year as a way for children and their families, along with residents of all ages, to meet members of the police department in a friendly and casual environment.
The program originated from the national Coffee with a Cop initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, which aims to break down barriers between police officers and residents. At the event, residents are invited to discuss issues with police officers and learn more about each other.
Last October, the Purcellville Police Department met with members of the community as part of National Coffee with a Cop Day, an event that started in 2016. Sweet Rose Bakeshop, at 201 N 23rd Street, and Market Street Coffee, at 1020 E. Main Street, hosted meetups in Purcellville for the national event.
