Loudoun County Schools Change Schedule For Thursday, Jan. 20
Winter weather is coming, and the Loudoun County school system announced that they will change their schedule accordingly.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Schools in Loudoun County will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 20. The school system announced the closing on Wednesday evening, as more winter weather is expected to come to the region on Thursday morning.
The school system's administrative offices are scheduled to open at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20. All school events scheduled to begin before 4 p.m. are cancelled. The school system may allow activities to go on as scheduled after 4 p.m., depending on weather conditions. Loudoun County Public Schools said they would announce a decision on their website by 12 p.m.
Loudoun County, along with much of northern Virginia and Maryland, is under a winter weather advisory, according to the National Weather Service. Loudoun County could receive up to two inches of snow.

More winter weather is expected to arrive on Friday night and into Saturday morning. Drivers are encouraged to avoid any nonessential travel as the snow is coming down to allow plows and other treatment crews to access roads.
