Stumptown Road In Leesburg To Be Closed This Weekend

Detours will be in place during a pipe replacement.

LEESBURG – Weather permitting, Stumptown Road (Route 662) between Montresor Road (Route 661) and Route 15 (James Monroe Highway) will be continuously closed to through traffic from 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, until 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, for drainage pipe replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Those needing to reach properties along Stumptown Road will have access but will not be able to go beyond the point of pipe replacement in either direction. The pipe is located on the western side of the Stumptown Road and Giddings Lane intersection; during the closure, drivers will only be able to access Giddings Lane via the east side of the intersection.

Through traffic will be detoured via Montresor Road and Route 15 back to Stumptown Road. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signs.
