Thanksgiving Weekend To Bring Heavy Traffic To Leesburg Outlets
Leesburg is preparing for heavy traffic starting Black Friday as families venture out after Thanksgiving to begin their holiday shopping.

LEESBURG, VA ā Leesburg is preparing for an onslaught of shoppers starting Black Friday as families venture out with their masks and hand sanitizer to begin their holiday shopping.
One of the busiest shopping areas in the town will be the Leesburg Premium Outlets, which open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday and close at 9 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 28, the outlet mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. followed by 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. hours on Sunday, Nov. 29.
The Leesburg Police Department told residents to expect heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area of the Leesburg Premium Outlets at 241 Fort Evans Road, NE, as well as other local shopping centers around town over the long Thanksgiving weekend.

During times of peak congestion, Leesburg police officers may direct motorists onto less congested secondary routes to ease traffic movement. Electronic signboards have been deployed along the secondary routes ā Ft. Evans Road and Potomac Station Drive ā to guide motorists toward the main thoroughfares ā Routes 7 and 15 and the Dulles Greenway ā via Battlefield Parkway and River Creek Parkway.
The Leesburg Police Department said it will have officers assigned to various locations where heavy Thanksgiving weekend shopping traffic is expected. Shoppers are encouraged to be vigilant and immediately call police to report any suspicious activity.
