This first time event will allow participants to share their perspectives about what makes Leesburg a great place to live, work or visit.
UPDATE (2:40 p.m.) A link has been provided towards the end of the article regarding guidelines and submission.
For the first time ever, the town has announced “the best thing about Leesburg is . . .” video contest, which will allow the chance for Leesburg to be promoted by its local residents.
Research & Communications Manager Betsy Fields said Monday that the contest will be aimed primarily at high school students and young adults with the intention of getting new and fresh perspectives about what makes Leesburg a great place to live, work or visit.
Participants will be asked to submit a digital video, no longer than three minutes, which would illustrate Leesburg at its best.
Fields said the contest will serve as a complement to the Economic Development Department’s new “Conversation About Leesburg” video, which was presented earlier this year.
The contest deadline will be Friday, May 4 with winners and honorable mentions announced during the May 22 Town Council meeting.

The winning and honorable mention videos will be uploaded to the town Web site and the Town’s YouTube channel. In addition, the town may use the videos, or portions of them, in conjunction with other promotional materials or campaigns. Contest prizes will be sponsored by Loudoun Credit Union.
Fields said the contest is open to all legal residents of the United States, except employees of the Town of Leesburg, the Loudoun Credit Union, and their family members. Submission forms and contest rules are available on the Town's Web site.
