Video Appears To Capture Vandals Shooting BB Gun In Loudoun

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Widespread vandalism struck western Loudoun County in the overnight hours of Dec. 20 and Dec. 21, with numerous reports of damage, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Several vehicles and homes were struck by BB pellets. Residents also reported their mailboxes were knocked off their posts and destroyed.

The vandalism occurred in a wide area of western Loudoun, including areas near Purcellville, Round Hill and Lovettsville. A doorbell camera caught the sound of multiple shots at 1:46 a.m. on Dec. 21 in Round Hill. Several vehicles reportedly were damaged in the area where the video was taken. At the start of the video as seen on the Neighbors app, some type of gun shots can be heard just before a car can be seen driving by the house.

Along with Evening Star Drive, the Loudoun Sheriff's Office listed Chestnut Overlook Drive, Longstreet Avenue, Irish Corner Road, Collington Drive, Piggot Bottom Road, Western Loudoun Street, St. James Drive and Bighorn Court as areas where vehicles and houses were targeted.

Members of the public who provide information to Loudoun Crime Solvers about the vandalism that leads to an arrest and indictment could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

The sheriff's office is asking residents in these areas to review their home surveillance footage and to contact Detective Ortutay at 571-258-3375 with any information regarding the case.
