Water Main Break Repaired

Early morning water main break caused by seasonal temperature change, according to town official



An early-morning water main break that was repaired in Leesburg earlier today probably resulted from seasonal weather changes.

"This type of water main break, in cast iron pipes, is generally related to seasonal weather changes," according to Betsy Fields, research and communications manager for the Town of Leesburg.

The leak was first detected shortly after midnight in front of the South Gate offices and condos on South King Street, Fields wrote in an e-mail to Patch.  

The break was repaired by 7 a.m., Tuesday.
